Linking your Smartcard to NHSMail
This short guide explains how to link your CIS Identity with NHSMail to enable Smartcard sign in.
- Visit the "Link My NHS Accounts Service" here - https://myidentity.nhs.net/landing
- Select the "Start now >" button.
- You will now be prompted to sign into your NHSMail account using your e-mail address and password.
- Once you have signed in, you will now need to select the 'NHS Care Identity' button towards the bottom of the page.
- An NHS CIS2 page will now load to authenticate your Smartcard. (If your Smartcard is not currently signed in, you will be prompted to enter your pin. Please ensure your Smartcard is inserted into the reader)
- You will now be prompted to confirm the accounts that you are linking. This will display your NHSMail Account and NHS Care Identity Account details. If these details are incorrect, please close the page and return to Step 1.
- You will now be presented with a success page. You can now close the window, or alternatively, select the "Go to NHSMail Portal" link.
